Three-year term after knife attack

A woman who stabbed a former friend after breaking into her home with a male accomplice has been given a three-year sentence.

A woman who stabbed a former friend after breaking into her home with a male accomplice has been given a three-year sentence.

Amy Reynolds (25) left Ciara O’Connor with serious injuries to her kidneys and liver. She spent six days in hospital but has recovered.

Reynolds, Heatherview, Tallaght, a mother of two, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to trespass and assaulting Ms O’Connor while armed with a knife at Derry Drive, Crumlin, on January 9th, 2010.

Judge Patrick McCartan suspended the final 18 months on condition Reynolds engage with the Probation Service for that period on her release from custody.
