At the Special Criminal Court yesterday, Mr Dermot Gannon (34), of Wellview Crescent, Mulhuddart, was charged with being a member of the IRA on October 16th, 1999.

Two brothers, Mr Anthony Donohue (42), a taxi driver, of Palmers Park, Palmerstown, and Mr Gabriel Donohue (28), a storeman, of Alpine Heights, Clondalkin, were charged with firearms and ammunition offences.

Mr Gabriel Donohue was charged with the unlawful possession of a semi-automatic .22 rifle with a telescopic sight, a bolt action .22 rifle and 31 rounds of ammunition and four shotgun cartridges at Alpine Heights on October 16th last year.

Mr Anthony Donohue was charged with the unlawful control of the guns and ammunition on the same date.

The court heard that the three men were arrested on warrants issued on Tuesday. All three were remanded in custody until next Wednesday.
