London - British, Australian and American astronomers have found three planets orbiting distant stars in the southern skies. They were discovered using the Anglo-Australian Telescope at Siding Springs in New South Wales.

Life as we know it could not survive on these planets. The smallest is 88 light years away, with a mass of about 84 per cent that of Jupiter.
