Three men questioned after man shot in Sligo

Three men are being questioned in connection with a shooting incident in Sligo town in which one young man was injured.

Three men are being questioned in connection with a shooting incident in Sligo town in which one young man was injured.

A number of shots are reported to have been fired through a window of a house a Stephen Mc Donagh Place, at least one of which struck a 27-year-old man in the back. He is being treated at Sligo General Hospital.

Three men from the town were arrested shortly after the incident and are being held at Sligo Garda Station under Section 30, Offences Against the State Act.

The scene has been sealed off pending a technical examination.
