Three people have been injured in an explosion at a church near the northern town of Trevigiano, the ANSA news agency reported, saying it could be the latest in a series of blasts linked to the so-called "Italian Unabomber".
The news agency said the blast occurred around noon in a church in Motta di Livenza, north of Venice, but did not elaborate.
The last attack blamed on the Italian Unabomber was in late January, when a booby-trapped plastic Easter egg container exploded in a street in the nearby town of Treviso.
A group of children on a school outing narrowly escaped injury when one of them kicked the container, setting off the explosive device.
The anonymous bomber has terrorized Italy's northwest with a series of explosions, mainly involving booby-trapped consumer items in supermarkets, for over a decade, wounding several people.
The American Unabomber, Theodore Kaczynski, who killed three people and injured 23 through booby-trapped letters, is serving life in prison without parole.
