Three held over €2m heroin seizure

Gardai and Customs officers have seized heroin worth €2 million in a serious of raids in Meath and Westmeath.

Gardai and Customs officers have seized heroin worth €2 million in a serious of raids in Meath and Westmeath.

In a joint operation co-ordinated by the Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs assisted by local Garda units from the Meath and Westmeath Divisions, 10 kilograms of the drug as well as €250,000 in cash were retrieved.

Two men, aged 39 and 28, and a woman (25) were arrested and are being detained at Kells and Ronanstown Garda Stations.

All three people are being held under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
