About 100 youths threw petrol bombs and stones when rioting erupted on the streets of north Belfast last night. The RUC said officers dealt with a series of violent disturbances in the Clifton Park Avenue area.

The crowd also damaged a fire tender attending an emergency call, added the spokesman. Three youths were later arrested for riotous behaviour.
