Three people escaped injury in an arson attack on a house in north Belfast last night.

The attack happened at Gardenmore, near the Old Cavehill Road area, just after 7.30 p.m.

It is understood a wheelie bin was filled with flammable liquid and placed against the back door of the house. The three occupants, all adults, managed to get out. Police said there was nothing to suggest the attack was sectarian and detectives investigating the motive were keeping an open mind.
