LONDON - Police in the US were last night investigating the deaths of three young British friends in an apparent suicide pact. They were checking the possibility that they had links with an extreme right wing group.

Ms Ruth Fleming and Mr Stefan Bateman, both 22, shot themselves with handguns in separate stalls at an indoor shooting range at Mesa, near Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday. Ms Jane Greenhow, (23), who shared a home with them in Hampshire, killed herself hours later near the town of Redding in Northern California.
