Three people are being questioned today after their arrests last night in a loyalist area of north Belfast.

It is understood the arrests are connected to the ongoing feud between the Ulster Volunteer Force and the Loyalist Volunteer Force.

Police came under attack as they made the arrests in the Woodvale area last night.

Four PSNI officers were hurt by stone-throwing youths.

Following the intervention of community representatives the situation was quickly brought under control.

The dispute escalated yesterday when Stephen Paul was gunned down in a red van outside a house in Wheatfield Crescent.

Another man who was with him was injured.
