Three contestants on the British version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire have been arrested over allegations of deception.

Major Charles Ingram and his wife Diana were arrested at their Wiltshire home following allegations about the Major's £1 million jackpot win.

A 51-year-old man from Cardiff, was also arrested and all three are currently being questioned over allegations of deception.

Major Ingram, who serves with the Royal Engineers, took part in the quiz show in September.

The edition was never broadcast after programme makers Celador became suspicious about his jackpot win.

His wife and his brother-in-law Mr Adrian Pollock had both previously won £32,000 on the show.

She later wrote a book called Win A Million, based on a theory both she and her brother had used to succeed.

Following today's arrests, a spokesman for Celador Productions said the company did not wish to comment.
