Two women and a man appeared in Dublin District Court yesterday in connection with an attack on a New Zealand woman when she was slashed with a Stanley knife.
Mr Colm Fogarty (29) and Ms Lisa Comerford (27), both from Killinarden Estate, Tallaght, had been arrested by Garda David Ennis and charged with robbery and assault causing harm to the New Zealand woman at Christ Church Cathedral on Sunday.
They were also charged with robbing an 18-year-old Tallaght woman of £75 and assault causing harm by attacking her with a knife. They were further charged with robbing two women, one in Harold's Cross, Dublin, the other in Monkstown, Co Dublin, by snatching their handbags on Sunday.
A third defendant, Ms Debbie Wilson (25), of Cremona Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin, had been arrested by Det Garda Derek McGrath at St Michael's Hill, Christchurch, and charged with attempted robbery and assault causing harm to the New Zealand woman.
Judge William Hamill granted legal aid to all three defendants and remanded them in custody to Kilmainham District Court on September 1st.
