Two armed and masked made off with thousands of euros in a raid on a hotel in Saggart in Dublin early this morning.
The two men forced the bar manager at the City West Hotel to open a safe which contained €20,000 at approximately 1.45 am.
Having emptied the safe, they tied up the woman and fled the scene in a car, believed to be a blue Volvo.
She later managed to escape and raised the alarm.
Gardai are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
