Paris - A third of French voters plan to abstain or spoil their papers at presidential elections in five weeks and the popularity of both leading candidates is plummeting, according to polls yesterday.

Some 36 per cent of the electorate told pollsters from the CSA institute that none of the field of presidential hopefuls would get their vote on the first round of the election on April 21st.
