Dublin quintet The Thrills were voted best new act at the Q magazine awards in London last night.
However, the main talking point of the evening was the decision by the judges to send Coldplay home empty-handed, despite the band being nominated in four categories.
Awards also went to Radiohead (best act), Blur (best album), Robbie Williams (live act), Duran Duran (lifetime achievement) and Christina Aguilera (best single).
