An 18-year-old male youth is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious assault in Limerick City last night.
The teenager is understood to have sustained several head injuries in an incident on the Old Cratloe Road shortly after 10pm last night.
He was brought to Limerick Regional Hospital where his condition was described as "critical".
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed to the incident to contact them.
