A TEAM of Navy divers searching for a missing 15-year-old boy who got into difficulty swimming in the River Lee yesterday evening found his body just after midnight this morning.

The boy, who was from Fairhill in north Cork city, has not yet been named. He was with a group of youths at the "Shaky Bridge" in Fitzgerald Park near Cork city centre when they decided to go for a swim. Shortly after 8.15pm two of the teenagers got in to difficulties.

One of the teenagers was rescued. The second boy's remains were found close to where he entered the water. Water units from Cork City Fire Brigade were at the scene within minutes, as were local gardaí.
