The Dublin West TD, Mr Liam Lawlor, claimed last night he did not appear before the Flood tribunal because he was not provided with a reason as to why he was required to attend.
"I did not refuse to attend this tribunal. I received four orders.
"My lawyers, with my full permission, answered the orders in detail in writing. We asked for the grounds of the making of the orders and it was not forthcoming." Mr Lawlor told the Six One News on RTE television.
Mr Lawlor said he had given the most comprehensive statement on the Quarryvale issue to the tribunal. He also said he told any bank he ever had any dealings with to give the information, going back 20 years, to the tribunal.
"Has anybody made an allegation against Liam Lawlor? I don't know.
"Has the tribunal got an allegation made against Liam Lawlor? They have not provided me with that.
"On last Wednesday there were 38 people listed for Century Radio hearings. And on Thursday Liam Lawlor is to appear.
"What have I to do with Century Radio? Where are the people that have made these allegations? "Why have they not been brought into the tribunal?"
Mr Lawlor said he had given the tribunal details of his consultancies.
"I told them I don't have records of companies that I was involved with going back 10 or 15 or 20 years, and I told them that they had everything."
Mr Lawlor said he would welcome the opportunity of tell the Committee of Procedure and Privileges of his co-operation with the tribunal.
"I relish the opportunity of explaining to the DPP that maybe it might be a little bit possible that the legal team to the tribunal might be just a little bit wrong in this matter," he said.
