A republican prisoner, Paddy Kelly, should be transferred from Belfast to Portlaoise on humanitarian grounds, the Laois Offaly Fine Gael TD, Mr Charles Flanagan, has said.

"He is seriously ill from cancer and a danger to nobody. He should be moved to Portlaoise, where his family could visit him on a regular basis," said Mr Flanagan.
