Boxing: Ireland's Katie Taylor guaranteed herself at least a bronze medal with a resounding win over Argentina's Peralta Celeste at the Fifth AIBA Women's World Championships at Ningbo City, China.

The reigning World, European and European Union lightweight champion remains on course to defend her title after stopping Celeste in the first round.

Taylor, 22, forced her opponent into two standing counts before the referee decided to stop the contest as the Bray boxer was 10-1 ahead.

Taylor will face Russian Ayzznat Gadzhieva in 60kg semi-final on Friday morning.  Cindy Orain of France and Dong Cheng of China will contest the other semi-final.

The final at the Ningbo Youngor Gymnasium will take place on Saturday.
