Police in Northern Ireland are investigating after an explosive device was left on a pavement in Co Armagh.

Police in Northern Ireland are investigating after an explosive device was left on a pavement in Co Armagh.

The object was discovered in Windmill Hill, Armagh at 11.15pm yesterday.

Police were alerted and Army Technical Officers were called in to examine the object. It was found to be a "crude but viable device", and was removed for further examination.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have any information or witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact them.
