Twenty-one weeks since it first began, judgment has been reserved in the so-called supergrass trial of alleged UVF leader Mark Haddock and 12 other defendants.
Final submissions in the Belfast Crown Court trial, which started on September 6th, lasted less than an hour.
The 35 charges faced by the 13 defendants are exclusively based on the evidence of brothers David and Ian Stewart, who confessed to a litany of UVF crimes and received massively reduced jail sentences in exchange for their evidence.
The brothers claim that nine defendants were involved in the murder of rival UDA chief Tommy English who was shot dead in front of his wife and children in his home in the Ballyduff estate, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, in October 2000.
They allege that the other four defendants were involved in assisting offenders, perverting justice and handing out beatings.
