The British Superbike Championship will make a foray into the Republic of Ireland after organisers agreed a three-year deal with Mondello Park in Co Kildare.
Earlier this week series organisers released their 2003 calendar, which included two empty dates as negotiations continued with Mondello Park bosses.
But today those negotiations were concluded after Borde Failte stepped in with a sponsorship package. The series heads to Mondello Park - which already hosts a round of the Green Flag British Touring Car Championship - in July, leaving British Superbike Championship stalwarts Knockhill and Mallory Park battling it out for the only remaining date.
"This is another exciting chapter in the development of Mondello Park," said circuit director John Morris.
"We know the potential spectator appeal of the BSB both domestically and internationally and we have been trying to secure a round for Ireland for some time."
