Suicide survey: main findings

Three out of four people know someone who has taken their own life;

Three out of four people know someone who has taken their own life;

The majority of people - almost two in three -- do not feel suicide should be seen as selfish or shameful;

Most people - seven in 10 - agree people should be prevented from taking their own lives at all costs;

Almost half think people with incurable illnesses should be allowed take their own life in a dignified manner;

Some three in four people support the decriminalisation of suicide.
