DILI - President Suharto snubbed Nobel Peace Prize winner, Bishop Carlos Belo, yesterday during a brief visit to troubled East Timor.

The Indonesian leader twice shook hands with Bishop Belo, during a ceremony in thee forecourt of the governor's offices in the territory's capital, Dili, but did not speak to him. But the bishop was congratulated by some of Gen Suharto's cabinet ministers and the armed forces chief, Gen Feisal Tanjung.
