Khartoum - Sudan's government said yesterday it had agreed to extend a partial ceasefire with rebels in the Bahr al-Ghazal region and western Upper Nile in southern Sudan.

Foreign Minister, Mustafa Osman Ismail, told a news conference that Sudan opposed any further partial ceasefires because the rebel Sudan Peoples Liberation Army (SPLA) had "misused" them.
