Peshawar - Hundreds of fundamentalist Islamic students yesterday torched the printing press of a Pakistani English-language daily for publishing a blasphemous letter against the prophet Mohammad, police and witnesses said.

Witnesses said the students who stormed the Frontier Post building after gathering at a mosque belonged to the main fundamentalist Jamaat-i-Islami. A journalist at the scene said: "The press has been totally gutted."
