LONDON - A mother who was shocked to find she was pregnant for a third time despite undergoing sterilisation yesterday accepted £100,000 from the health authority responsible for the operation.

Mrs Zoe Bell (39), of Stock, Ingatestone, Essex, sued Basildon and Thurrock Health Authority (now South Essex), alleging she was not warned that fallopian tubes might "recanalise" and that some form of contraception might still he necessary.
