The Standards in Public Office Commission has today given a report to the Ceann Comhairle concerning disclosure of political donations.

According to the commission, the report stems from disclosures made by Patrick O'Meara, who was required to complete a statement relating to donations made by him during 2007.

Most of the donations disclosed by Mr O'Meara were made to branches of Fianna Fáil and to members of Fianna Fáil, with some of the donations were made to persons who were required to provide a a donation statement themselves to the commission.

In some cases, a donation disclosed by Mr O'Meara and that was over the disclosure threshold of €634.87 was not disclosed by the recipients.
