South Africa coach Rudolf Straeuli and SA Rugby managing director Rian Oberholzer both stepped down from their respective positions today.
Straeuli presided over a poor World Cup campaign which saw South Africa crash out in the quarter-finals to New Zealand. They were also comprehensively outplayed by eventual champions England in the pool stages of the competition.
Straeuli and Oberholzer both recently came under fire after pictures of Springbok players training naked during a pre-World Cup military style training camp came to light.
South African rugby officials told reporters after a board meeting of SA Rugby, the sport's professional arm in South Africa, that the pair had resigned on "mutually acceptable" terms.
