Barcelona - Spain's former health minister Ernest Lluch was shot dead in Barcelona last night in an attack that bore all the hallmarks of the Basque separatist group ETA, state radio said.
Lluch was shot twice in the head at a car-park about two hours after a car bomb exploded on the outskirts of Barcelona.
In Madrid suspected members of ETA fired grenades at a Spanish Civil Guard police barracks in the Basque region yesterday, slightly wounding one police officer.
