Something for the Bank Holiday weekend

Craft Beer Village, Dublin:

Formerly known as the Craft Beer Festival, this celebration of Ireland 's latest fascination will be based beside the CHQ Building on George's Dock until the 18th March. The village will be home to a variety of craft beer and cider, artisan food and live Irish music.

The event began last year, with more than 11,000 people attending. Admission is €5 after 7pm and free beforehand.

Dingle International Film Festival, Kerry:

Throughout the weekend, Dingle will be home to filmmakers, writers, animators, artists and Fungi followers for the annual international film festival. The festival will include a day devoted to Dingle, where all films will have a local slant. There will even be a film dedicated to Fungi.

In previous years, many internationally renowned actors have visited the festival, including Cillian Murphy, Saoirse Rónan, Stephen Frears and Gabriel Byrne. There will be plenty of animated films too.

The Beach Bog Run, Wexford:

For those who would rather an active weekend than a weekend of revelling, there’s Wexford’s beach bog run. The 6km and 10km adventure race taking participants across some of the best natural course Wexford has to offer.

Runners will have to make their way through water, bog ,woodland and road. It will kick off Saturday at Castletown Beach at 1pm. It is open to people over the age of 13.

GAA Club Finals, pubs throughout the country

On Sunday evening, either Ballymun Kickhams or St Brigid's of Roscommon will become the will become football club champions, while Offaly's Kilcormac Killoughey take on St.Thomas' of Galway for the hurling club title.

These two matches are typically played around the St. Patrick’s Day weekend and are a favourite of GAA fans across the country. Playing in these matches is amongst the biggest honours a local GAA club can hope for. Both matches will be played in Croke Park with tickets costing between €5 and €25.

Night at the Dogs, Limerick

A special night of dog racing will take place in Limerick greyhound stadium this Saturday at 7.45. It will be the hugely anticipated start of the 'Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Puppy Stake', which will have a total prize fund of €160,000, which is the richest event ever staged at an Irish greyhound stadium outside of Shelbourne Park.

A total of 84 Greyhounds are running in the stake and all are vying for the coveted first prize of €80,000. Tickets are €10 per person.

Signs of Life Celebrity Photographic Exhibition, Donegal

This exhibition is likely to be the only place you’ll see Robbie Keane, Andrea Corr, Rachel Allen and Jedward together. Special photographs of Irish celebrities using Irish sign language will adorn the walls of The County Museum in Letter kenny, where you can visit them this weekend.

The exhibition, organised by the Irish Deaf Society, has already stopped in Dublin, Monaghan, Mayo, Kildare, Cork and Limerick and has proved very popular. Admission is free.
