Kampala - A Ugandan soldier returned home over the weekend after a two-year military tour in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to find he was dead and buried, local newspapers said yesterday.
Since 1998, Uganda has sent about 10,000 troops to Congo to back a rebellion aimed at toppling President Laurent Kabila.
Private Sam Kalungi returned to his home in Mbukiro village in central Uganda to find a grave bearing his name. But the dead soldier buried there was actually James Kalungi, delivered to the wrong family.
