Socialist Party:The Socialist Party has pledged to challenge the right-wing economic agenda which it says has motivated the Fianna Fáil-PD Government and enriched speculators and big corporations.

"For working people looking at the main parties, this is a no-choice election. What is striking is how similar the policies of the official Opposition are to the Government. In government, Fine Gael and Labour will not fundamentally change anything," said the party in a statement.

"The fact that Sinn Féin and the Greens are all prepared to prop up in government either of these failed blocs will disappoint anyone who hoped that they stand for radical change," it added.

Along with its one TD, Joe Higgins, the party is running three other candidates. They are: Cllr Mick Barry in Cork North Central, Cllr Clare Daly in Dublin North and Cllr Mick Murphy in Dublin South West.
