Missing Irishman Donal ‘Donie’ O’Sullivan has been found alive in Sydney following a intensive five-day search.

The 33-year-old from Clooney, Co Clare, had last been seen leaving the Tea Gardens Hotel on Bronte Road in Bondi Junction last Saturday at about 10.30am.

More than a hundred people from the Irish community joined searches for the Co Clare man, led by his younger brother Johnnie.

Earlier today, Australian police had appealed for information to find Mr O' Sullivan. The New South Wales detectives released the last known footage him in the Tea Gardens Hotel.

A New South Wales Police statement said concerned relatives reported Mr O’Sullivan missing on Sunday. “There are grave concerns for his welfare as the Irish national has not returned to his Allen Parade home in Bondi Junction nor attended his work in Canberra,” it had said.

Searches had continued around the area today.

Mr O’ Sullivan has lived in Sydney for about two years and worked as a carpenter and pipe layer.
