Dunnes Stores workers aligned to the Mandate trade union attended the Labour Court today where they sought better pay and work conditions.

The “Decency for Dunnes Workers” campaign is focused on hours and earnings, job security and the right to union representation. Employees say they don’t know how many hours’ work they will get in any given week.

Mandate described the non-participation of Dunnes management as “extremely disappointing”.

Assistant general secretary Gerry Light said the company needed to come into line with other retailers.
