LONDON - A small Scottish smoked salmon company has dropped Pope John Paul as a customer because it was fed up with being paid late, the Sunday Telegraph reported.
"Getting paid from the Vatican proved as much a miracle as feeding the 5,000," said Mr John Mackenzie, chairman of Hebridean Seafoods.
Until recently 200 kilos of salmon, worth about £2,500, was shipped to the Vatican every two weeks. The Pope was said to like the fish because it came from unpolluted waters in the Outer Hebrides.
