London - Doctors described yesterday how they brought a woman skier back from the dead after her body temperature had plunged to a record low of 13.7 C. The woman, who was submerged in icy water for 40 minutes after a skiing accident, had been pronounced clinically dead. But, miraculously, she survived after being resuscitated and placed on a heart-lung machine.

The previous survival record was held by a child whose temperature fell to 14.4 C.
