A man has been sentenced to six years for impeding the Garda inquiry into the murder of father of two Peter Gunn.

Kastriot Boza (38), Newgrove Avenue, Sandymount, Dublin, who is from Albania, admitted to disposing of a meat knife and a blood-stained carpet with intent to impede the apprehension of a person he knew or believed to be guilty of murder. He pleaded guilty on the morning of his trial to the charges.

Mr Gunn (29), from Glasnevin, was found dead at Dunsoghly Lane in The Ward on January 15th, 2009.

Gardaí accepted that Boza, who is a naturalised Irish citizen, took part in the disposal of evidence because he was under threat and in fear for his life.
