Patna - Armed men, suspected to be drawn from a private army of upper castes, killed at least six people in attacks on two villages in eastern India, police and a political party official said yesterday.

The killings occurred on Saturday in the Bhojpur district of central Bihar state about 100 km (62 miles) from the state capital Patna.
