Jammu - Suspected Muslim militants gunned down six Hindu villagers in Indian Kashmir as word emerged yesterday of a fresh militant proposal for ceasefire talks with the government in New Delhi.
The attack occurred on Thursday evening in Koddara village in the southern Kashmir district of Rajouri, some 160 km west of here. Rajouri police superintendent Parminder Singh said at least eight gunmen entered the village, which was home to between 30 and 40 families, and opened fire with automatic weapons.
