An action taken by singer and musician Red Hurley arising from a road accident nearly seven years ago has been settled, the High Court was told yesterday.
Mr Hurley claimed he sustained severe personal injuries as a result of the accident.
The entertainer, suing as Brian Vincent Hurley, Charlotte Quay, Dublin, brought the action against Scott Goodwin, Sacramento, California; Ryans Investment Ltd, trading as Hertz International Franchisee; and the Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland.
When the case was called yesterday, Mr Liam Hamilton, for Mr Hurley, said it had been settled and could be struck out. The settlement terms were not revealed.
It was claimed that on June 4th, 1998, Mr Hurley was driving a car at the junction of Inch Road and the main N1 road near Balrothery, Balbriggan, Co Dublin, when, owing to the defendants' negligence, another vehicle driven by Mr Goodwin collided with Mr Hurley's vehicle.
