A shot was fired during a robbery attempt on a van delivering cash to a bank in Newcastle, Co Down, this morning.
Nothing was taken and there was no report of anyone injured, during the raid on Main Street at 11.15 am.
The robbers left the scene in a white vehicle.
A white car was subsequently recovered on Merrion Avenue, which the police believe may have been used by the suspects.
