Shooting blamed on loyalists

A 23 year old man was shot in both legs in an apparent loyalist punishment shooting in Bangor, Co Down last evening

A 23 year old man was shot in both legs in an apparent loyalist punishment shooting in Bangor, Co Down last evening. The man was found lying injured near Ballintine playing fields, on the outskirts of the town.

An RUC spokesman said early this morning that the man's injuries were not life threatening. He would not speculate on local reports that the shooting was drug related.
