Shelbourne kept the pressure on Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians at the top of the eircom League Premier division today with a 3-0 demolition job at the Carlisle Grounds.

Shelbourne dominated from the start, never allowing a below par Bray side to impose themselves on the contest and deservedly took all three points to move within striking distance of the league leaders. Shelbourne and Rovers are now the only two teams to remain unbeaten five games into the season.

It was a case of the Fabulous Baker Boys for Shelbourne as Dessie and Richie sealed the win after Davy Byrne put the Dubliners in front. Byrne’s goal arrived on 25 minutes with a long range shot that crept under the body of Young in the Bray goal.

Then, immediately after the restart Dessie Baker doubled the advantage, stroking home a penalty after Stephen Geoghegan was fouled in the Bray area. His brother Richie sealed the win with Shelbourne’s third on 65 minutes.
