A man who pleaded guilty to having cannabis worth £1.29 million was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment. Patrick Scanlon (40), of Loughill West, Foynes, Co Limerick, received two concurrent seven-year sentences at Limerick Circuit Court after pleading guilty to possessing the drug and possession with intent to supply at Mount Kenneth Place, Limerick, on June 25th, 1999.
