At least seven people were killed and 50 injured when a car bomb believed exploded in the northeastern Colombian city of Cucuta.

Police suspect the bomb - which exploded in the parking garage of a shopping centre - was planted by right-wing National Liberation Army rebels.

Another explosion day killed one soldier and injured three others in the outskirts of Carmen de Bolivar, some 950 kilometres (590 miles) north of Bogota, according to military officials.

Officials suspected Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels of carrying out that attack.
