Gardai investigating the murder of Dublin drug dealer Paschal Boland arrested four men and three women early yesterday morning under the Offences Against the State Act.
The arrests were carried out in the Blanchardstown-Lucan area of Dublin. Later, in a follow-up search in Co Wicklow, three stolen cars and an undisclosed sum of money were discovered.
Boland (43) was shot dead by a masked gunman in January outside his home at Ashcroft Court, Mulhuddart. At the time it was thought a rival drug dealer from the area was responsible for the killing and that the motive was to stop Boland from expanding his operations.
The investigation which led to yesterday's arrests involved the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Garda National Drugs Unit and local gardai.
