London - Family and friends of the murdered schoolboy Damilola Taylor yesterday held a memorial service in his honour on what would have been his 11th birthday, Rachel Donnelly reports.

In an address to the congregation of more than 1,000 mourners at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Pentecostal Church close to where Damilola was murdered in south London last week, his brother Tunde (21) apologised for not saving him. "Please forgive me for not being there for you," he said. "I am deeply sorry for not being there for you."
