A man who attempted to rape an 87-year-old woman while she was sleeping in her bed has had his sentence hearing fixed for February 25th next.
Gerard Moran (22), of Leinster Street, Dublin, pleaded guilty last December to the offence, which was committed in December 1996.
Mr Tom O'Connell BL, prosecuting, told the Central Criminal Court that the victim was now deceased but not as a result of the incident.
